NEW LONDON, CT (April 12, 2025) - Tufts Coed Sailing is in eighth place after Saturday's racing at the Thompson Trophy hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
One full round-robin between the eight teams was completed, and another one was started on Saturday. If conditions allow on Sunday, Round 2 will be finished and a Round 3 will also be contested.
In Round 1 on Saturday, Tufts won against Roger Williams University and College of Charleston. They were defeated by Harvard University, Boston College, Tulane University, Coast Guard and the University of Rhode Island.
The Jumbos then got four races in for Round 2, winning against against College of Charleston with a perfect 1-2-3 score and losing to Harvard, BC and Tulane. They have races against Roger Williams, Coast Guard and Rhode Island still remaining in Round 2.
Boston College leads the regatta thus far with a 9-3 record.

Tufts is attempting to earn an at-large berth into the Intercollegiate Sailing Association National Team Racing Championship coming up April 24-26 at Brown University. This weekend's results could factor into a potential berth, which will be announced on Tuesday.
Sunday racing at the Thompson Trophy Team Race will start at 10 AM.
