PITTSFIELD, MA (April 26, 2025) - Williams College and Tuts Univesity, the #2- and #3 ranked teams in the current IRCA/IRA national polls, respectively, went head-to-head in a tremendously competitive series of races this morning on Lake Onota.

The four varsity eight races all had margins of less than three seconds, with the Jumbos winning three of the competitions. Tufts also had the two two finishing teams in a varsity four race.
The races over the 2000-meter Lake Onota course were rowed in steady rain with a minimal cross-tail wind for the 1V/2V with flat water, with the wind building slightly for the 3V/4V and 4s.
Host Williams won the first varsity race with their 5:54.14 finish to Tufts' 5:56.97. The second varsity race was even closer, with the Jumbos' 6:01.94 winning mark edging Williams' 6:02.35 by less than a half-second.

The third varsity race was another half-second difference as Tufts' winning time was 6:08.68 to Williams' 6:09.24. Tufts' largest margin of victory on the day came from the fourth varsity with a 6:17.07 finish to Williams' 6:19.51.

In the varsity four race where two Tufts teams defeating Williams, the Jumbo A four crossed the finish line in a 7:04.60 mark followed by the Tufts B team (7:10.70). Williams was third with a 7:12.37 time.
