HARTFORD, CT (April 6, 2025) -- The No. 2 Tufts University men's tennis squad continued their undefeated New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) season going on Sunday afternoon, as the Jumbos rolled right past host Trinity College 7-0 in action inside Memorial Field House.
The Jumbos (13-1, 5-0 NESCAC) cruised to wins in all three matches in doubles, as
Vuk Vuksanovic and
Sacha Maes knocked off Brandon Felcher and John Pope at the No. 1 spot, 7-5. The win was the first victory for the Tufts' pair this season.
Junior
Javier Gonzalez and first-year
Stavros Mastrogamvrakis upped their record to 5-1 on the season with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles over Jack Ginter and Marcus Carlsson to clinch the doubles' point. Seniors
Lachie Macintosh and
Derin Acaroglu earned the first win of the day at No. 3, as they won 6-2 to improve to 8-4 on the campaign.
In singles, Gonzalez improved to 9-4 on the season with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Lucas Garbati at the No. 1 position. Macintosh earned a straight set victory at the No. 2 spot with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Axel Edstrom.
Junior
Andrej Djokic upped his season mark to an impressive 14-3 with an emphatic 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot, while Mastrogamvrakis also won his ninth match in 10 tries with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Pierce Rutledge at the No. 4 spot.
First-year
Eren Cheung stayed undefeated on the season with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 5, upping his mark to 4-0 in 2024-25, and
Davide Mirza also won in two sets with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6.
Tufts remains as the lone undefeated squad in NESCAC play, and will now return home for a three-match homestand starting April 12 at 2 p.m. against Wesleyan University in conference action.
