GENEVA, OHIO (May 23, 2025) - The Tufts University women's track and field team showed out in the action on day two of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio Friday.
Senior
Harper Meek was up first in the high jump on Friday, and cleared the first bar at 1.60m. However, the senior was unable to pass the bar at 1.65m, and bowed out of the competition in 15th place. It was still a marked improvement from her seed, finishing nine positions ahead of her number 24 seed. It was a great way to end a solid career with the Jumbos.
While one Tufts career came to an end, another one finished the first chapter of what will surely be a great story of her time with the Jumbos. First-year
Makayla Moriarty ran for a 58.23 time in the 400m dash. She finished in 22nd place in a field of national competitors, and saw the field just pull away down the final stretch. Moriarty's first year with the Jumbos comes to a close, but the rookie already broke the school record in this event.
The Jumbos will be in action again tomorrow as senior
Jordan Andrew and first-year
Elysse Cumberland are in the triple jump at 1:45 pm, and first-year
Arielle Chechile competes in the 400m hurdles finals at 3:25 pm.
