MYRTLE BEACH, SC / MIDDLETOWN, CT (March 21, 2026) – On a light day for the Tufts University women's outdoor track & field team, six Jumbos competed at two separate meets on Saturday. Four were at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in South Carolina, where the Jumbos finished a three-day stay. Two Tufts competitors ran at Wesleyan University's J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic.
At the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the top mark came from junior
Jackie Wells in the shot put. Her 11.40m (37'5") distance was her outdoor PR. It placed 13th in a large field of 53 competitors, and it was also a top 50 early national mark. Junior
Ceci LaBarge was also in the shot put, where her 9.93m (32'7") best attempt was 29th overall.

Nicole Kuhl was a third Jumbo thrower in action today, placing 32nd in the discus throw at the Shamrock meet with 27.21m (89'3") distance. Classmate
Nora Jean-Jacques was also in South Carolina, competing on Saturday with a 10.78m (35'4 ½") triple jump. The mark was 15th in the event and earned a top 50 early DIII ranking.
Tufts seniors
Vivian Lau and
Paige Zhang were the only two members of the women's team in action at Wesleyan today. Zhang ran 1:11.71 in the 400-meter hurdles, her PR that was ninth in today's event. Lau finished the 5000 meters 10th out of 23 runners (19:37.40).
The Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational included team scoring, and Tufts finished in a tie for 19th place with 11 points. The Wesleyan meet was not scored.
The Jumbos are scheduled to attend the WashU Distance Carnival and the Black and Gold Invitational at Bryant University next week.
