ST. MARY'S, MD (May 27, 2025) - The Tufts University coed sailing team sits eighth out of 18 teams at the ICSA Open Fleet Race Championship Western Semifinls following the first day of action on Tuesday.
The Jumbos will look to remain among the top nine through Wednesday's racing as that would place them into the finals which are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
Conditions allowed for four races to be finished in A and B divisions today. Tufts had scores totaling to 33 in A's and 37 in BB's for a team score of 70. They are seven in front Jacksonville University and the University of Miami, who both have 77 total scores through Tuesday's races.

Kate Castleberry are fifth in their division through one day. They had finishes of 14th, seventh, second and 10th in their four races.
In B division, sophomore
Kurt Stuebe skippered with senior
Cindy Wang as crew. They are ninth in B's after posting scores of 17th, 13th, second and fifth today.
Stanford University leads the Western Semifinals thus far with a 9-19-28 scoring line.
Wednesday's racing, from which the top nine teams will advance to the finals, is slated to begin at 9:30 AM.
