Tufts' Four Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team Members Most in Nation

MEDFORD, MA (July 8, 2025) - Tufts University's Margie Carden (women's lacrosse), Madeline Delaney (women's lacrosse), Andrea DelGiudice (field hokey) and Hannah Jiang (women's rowing) have earned 2024-25 Academic All-America® women's at-large team recognition announced today by College Sports Communicators. Delaney is on the first team, and Carden, DelGiudice and Jiang received second-team awards.

Tufts' four Academic All-America® women's at-large selections are the most in the nation for Division III. 

This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a significant contributor to the team with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. A limit of six nominations per school is set. For field hockey and lacrosse players, nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games. For rowing, nominees must have competed in a minimum of four competitions or as a member of an NCAA boat (1V8, 2V8, 1V4) at a conference championship.

For the Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, student-athletes from the following sports are eligible - Women's Beach Volleyball, Women's Bowling, Women's Fencing, Women's Field Hockey, Women's Golf, Women's Gymnastics, Women's Ice Hockey, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Rifle, Women's Rowing, Women's Skiing and Women's Water Polo.

Delaney earns the Academic All-America® women's at-large team honor for the second straight year (3rd team in 2023-24). In a fifth year of eligibility this spring, she was the IWLCA National Midfielder of the Year in Division III for a Jumbo team that won the NESCAC title and advanced to the NCAA Championship game. She graduated from Tufts in 2024 with an economics degree (3.84 GPA) and completed a Master's Certificate in Technology Management and Leadership this spring. Carden led the women's lacrosse team in goals this year with 71 and graduated in May as the team's career goals leader (268). She earned an international relations degree from Tufts with a 3.74 GPA. Both Carden and Delaney were IWLCA first team All-Americans.

DelGiudice helped guide the field hockey team to the conference title and NCAA final in the fall. She was a first-team NFHCA All-American for the second straight year who led the Jumbos in scoring with 15 goals and 37 points. After graduating in 2024 with a computer science degree (3.54 GPA), she earned a Master of Science degree in Data Science during the 2024-25 year. Jiang, a rising senior, is the Jumbos' first varsity coxswain who has helped Tufts win two consecutive NCAA Championships in women's rowing. A two-time CRCA first team All-American, she is a Cognitive Brain Science Studies major with a 3.86 GPA.

With these four honorees, Tufts University Athletics now has nine Academic All-America® recipients for the 2024-25 academic year.
