CRANSTON, RI (September 20, 2025) - The Tufts University coed sailing team has two squads in action at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy which started on Saturday.
Only four races were held in A and B divisions as conditions were unreliable. The Jumbos 2 team is 12th thus far with an 86 score, and the Jumbos 1 unit is 13th at a 95 score.
The best performance came from the Jumbos 2 B team where freshman
Pearse Dowd skippered with sophomore crew
Dory Russell. They were seventh in B's on Saturday, totaling a 33 score in their four races including two sixths.

Oliver Keeves with senior crew
Reddin Kehrli was 13th in the division with a 43 score. Their fifth-place finish in the first B race was Tufts' best score of the day.
The A division saw the Jumbos 1 pair of senior skipper
Ben Mueller with sophomore crew
Kate Castleberry finish Saturday in 15th place (52 score). The Jumbos 2 A team of junior
Gus Macaulay skippering with senior
Lilah Parker as crew was 17th with a 53 score.
Host Brown University leads the regatta after one day with a 29 team score.
Sunday's second day of racing starts with a first warning at 10:15 AM.
