WEST MEDFORD, MA (September 21, 2025) - For the first time since 2022, the Tufts University coed sailing team won its own Hood Trophy hosted this weekend out of Bacow Sailing Pavilion on Upper Mystic Lake.
Poor conditions all weekend limited racing to just four starts in both A and B divisions, two each on Saturday and Sunday. Tufts had two squads in action, with the Jumbos 1 team winning the 18-team regatta with a 22 final score (7 A's, 15 B's). The Jumbos 2 team was sixth at a 55 total (22 A's 33 B's).
Junior skipper

Greta Klein of the Jumbos 1 team won A division at the Hood regatta. After sailing to firsts in both of their races on Saturday, they were first again to start Sunday and then fourth in the final race of A division. Their score of 7 in four races bested the runner-up A score of 14 by Brown University.
The Jumbos 1 B division boat had junior skipper Devon Owen with first-year crew
Patricia Winssinger. They finished third in B's after they were sixth and second in Sunday's two races.
For Jumbos 2, senior skipper
