WALTHAM, MA (September 24, 2025) -- The Tufts University volleyball team, which moved into the receiving votes section in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recenty, won its eighth straight match Wednesday evening with a 3-1 road win over Brandeis University in non-conference play.
The Jumbos (9-1) win streak matched the longest since the 2022 season, when Tufts tallied eight in a row before falling in the NCAA Tournament Regional finals. The 9-1 start to the year is also the best since Tufts started the 2019 season 19-0. Just as impressive is that all eight of the wins have come on the road.
The offensive unit was humming on Wednesday evening, as the Jumbos posted a season-high .298 hitting percentage for the match. The 54 kills were the fourth-most this season as a season, as Tufts had 10 players with at least one termination.
Junior
Emma Heckman continued her fantastic play of late, as she led the Jumbos with 13 kills on 28 attempts, hitting .321 for the match. Sophomore
Maiwenn Kamdje totaled 10 kills, and sophomore
Keller Mobley just missed a double-double with nine kills, four aces and 13 digs.
Junior setter Rianna had 22 assists and five digs, and sophomore
Ellery Clark posted the second-most assists in a match in her career with 22 helpers. Junior
Akpevwe Akpoigbe had three blocks, three aces and five blocks in three sets of action, and Julia Griffths had six kills on 10 swings, adding two assisted blocks.
Senior

Celina Savage each also tallied four kills as well, while sophomore
Matsa Shi led all players with 14 digs in the win. Sophomore
Dylan Whisenant also had two aces and seven digs in the victory.
In the opening set, Tufts never trailed in the frame leading by as many as six while hitting .367 with 16 kills. The Jumbos raised their hitting percentage to .370 in the second set, led by four kills from Heckman while posting a solid 70 percent side out clip. After Brandeis (5-7) won the third set, Tufts responded with another solid offensive output with 13 kills in the fourth set to clinch the win.
Tufts was great in transition on the night, hitting .361 in 61 total attempts, hammering down 28 kills led by Kamdje's eight kills on 11 attacks.
Anna Ertischek had 14 kills in the loss for the Judges.
Tufts will finally return home for the first time in over four weeks, hosting Bates College Friday evening at 6 p.m. in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action inside Cousens Gymnasium.
