WATERVILLE, MAINE (January 10, 2026) -- Junior guard
Dylan Reilly had a career afternoon for the No. 13 Tufts University men's basketball team Saturday, pouring in 27 points on 6-of-11 shooting from three-point range to lift the Jumbos to an 88-66 win over host Colby College inside the Margaret M. Crook Center.
Reilly was 10-for-15 overall from the floor, as he eclipsed his previous career-high of 22 points during the 2024-25 season against Brandeis University. Reilly has scored double digits in his last three contests, scoring 14 points each of the last two contests before exploding on Saturday. His six made three-pointers also ties a career high.
The contest was close early on as Colby led 8-7 after four minutes but six straight points by the Jumbos gave Tufts (13-2, 2-0 NESCAC) a five-point edge following a bucket from senior
Scott Gyimesi.
The Mules clawed back to make it a 19-17 game in favor of the Jumbos, but a 9-0 run capped by a triple from junior
Zion Watt gave the Jumbos their first double-digit lead at 28-17 to force a Colby timeout. The Mules responded and cut their deficit to three at 33-30, but the Jumbos answered with 12-1 run to take a 45-31 lead with 1:09 left in the first half.
After the Jumbos took a nine-point lead into the halftime break at 45-36, a quick 9-2 run by Tufts made it a 16-point game at 54-38. Moments after that, a lay-up by sophomore
Robbie Nyamwaya pushed Tufts to a 60-40 lead, cruising to the win thanks to a second half that saw the Jumbos shoot 66.7 percent from deep.
Tufts had five players in double figures on Saturday, as Watt was scorching from three-point land going 5-of-7 overall and 5-of-5 from behind the three-point arc. Watt also pulled in eight rebounds. Gyimesi tallied yet another double-double, his 10th of the season with 12 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Joshua Bernstein tallied 11 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three assists as he stuffed the stat sheet, and junior
Jon Medley returned the rotation with 10 points and four rebounds. Senior
Sidney Wooten dished out a team-high six assists.
The Jumbos shot 61.9 percent from three-point range on Saturday, which is a season-high and the best for a contest since making 13-of-20 against Bowdoin College on January 11, 2013.
Tufts also strong at the charity stripe, making 15-of-20 for a 75 percent clip.
Dan Civello had 15 points for the Mules (10-3, 1-1 NESCAC), while Savion Stroud also pitched in with 11 points and five rebounds. Colby shot just 36.9 percent from the field, going 24-for-65 for the contest.
Tufts will return home for NESCAC play on Friday evening, January 16 to host Williams College inside Cousens Gymnasium.
