MEDFORD, MA (January 17, 2026) –
Quinci Wheeler was a part of three victories,
Madeleine Dunn had top marks in two events,
Isa Chambers participated in two wins and
Malia Leung won both diving events as the Tufts women's swimming & diving team celebrated Senior Day with a 178-90 victory over Bates College Saturday at Hamilton Pool.
The Jumbos opened the day by winning the 400 medley relay. Junior
Elena Harrison, Wheeler, sophomore
Angel Smyrniou and
Isa Chambers joined together for a 3:51.03 winning mark.
Tufts then got a 10:28.04 time from freshman
Cloe Nader to win the 1,000 meters, before Dunn achieved her first victory of the meet. She swam 1:53.27 to take the 200 freestyle. Freshman
Abby Davis kept the run of victories going with her 27.24 finish that won the 50 backstroke.
Wheeler's first victory came in the 50 breaststroke with a touch of 29.39 seconds. Sophomore
Lila Strober helped Tufts continue to dominate the meet with her 200 butterfly victory in a 2:06.48 time.
Isa Chambers joined the victory party with her own in the 50 freestyle, where her 24.34 time was tops.
The 100 freestyle saw Wheeler's second individual win, a 52.13 time. Sophomore
Noa Chambers posted a 2:09.04 mark for first place in the 200 backstroke.
The lone event where Bates would have the best time was the 200 breaststroke where Sarah Parker swam 2:22.12. Tufts had clinched the team win by then, and that was the last event in which they would count their results towards the team score. Freshman
Emma Shane was second in the race (2:28.00) for Tufts.
Dunn's 4:54.85 was fastest in the 500 freestyle, while sophomore
Sophia Knight recorded a career-best with her 2:08.16 that was fastest in the 200 individual medley. First-year
Iris Paek had the Jumbos' top time in the 50 butterfly of 28.27 seconds (fifth overall).
Leung's scores of 290.03 and 266.54 won the one-meter and three-meter diving events, respectively. Both were over the NCAA six-dive qualifying standards. Junior
Arya Gupta's 262.87 for one-meter was also over the qualifying standard.
A mixed 200 freestyle relay was held to close the meet. Tufts' Wheeler and first-year
Alec Lazorisak were joined my men's team members Isaac Shang and Max Gerke to post the 1:30.08 fastest time.
Along with
Isa Chambers, Dunn, Leung and Wheeler,
Madison Hagberg,
Avery Newcomer and
Katharine Skelly were part of the Seniors Day ceremony this afternoon.
Tufts will be at MIT next Saturday for a dual meet versus the Engineers.
