NORTHFIELD, MN / KEENE, NH (October 3, 2026) – Tufts University men's cross country senior
Jonah Reisner placed fifth today among the best runners in the nation at the Running of the Cows meet hosted by Carleton College. The Jumbo team earned a strong 10th-place showing.
The event was held at the Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course in Northfield, Minnesota, which is the site of 2026 NCAA Division III Championships coming up in November. Most of the top teams in the nation competed there today.
Reisner was among the top 10 runners throughout the eight-kilometer race today, peaking in third through three kilometers and eventually finishing in a 24:34.7 time for fifth place out of 328 finishers to lead the Jumbos.
Tufts recorded a 252 score for 10th place out of 35 teams overall. Wartburg won the team competition with a 110 score. The Jumbos were first among NESCAC teams and second in New England at the meet.
Sophomore
Chris Hovet made a strong showing today by scoring second for Tufts with his 36th-place finish in a 25:12.3 time.
Jason Minicozzi led Tufts' freshmen by scoring third for the team in a 25:21.0 mark (57th overall). Freshman
Taylor Combs was next for the Jumbos as his 25:34.1 time for 78th place scored fourth for the team. The Jumbos' fifth scorer was junior
Meba Henok in 86th place (25:40.4).
Tufts' top seven at this "Pre-Nationals" meet included seniors
Sam Kurian (25:45.6 for 98th) and
Harris Gulbransen (25:49.0 for 114th).
The Jumbos also saw action at the KSC Invitational hosted by Keene State College today. Tufts was fourth there out of 27 teams with three individuals placing in the top 15.
Sophomore
Ben Hester led Tufts in 10th place overall out of 267 finishers with a 25:26.4 mark. Senior
Simon Donovan was right behind Hester, recording a 25:27.9 time for the eight kilometers that was 11th overall. Sophomore
Tadhg Murray's 25:35.4 finish was 15th at the competition.
Juniors
Liam Lucas and
Lucas Klein scored fourth and fifth for Tufts, respectively. Lucas was 24th in the race at 25:50.4, while Klein crossed the finish line in 26:22.2 for 43rd place.
The top seven for Tufts at Keene included sophomore
Chris Barbato (26:35.1 for 51st) and sophomore
William Burch (26:40.1 for 59th).
