MEDFORD, MA (October 5, 2026) – Tufts University field hockey sophomore
Eleanor Helm played a leading role in the Jumbos' recent victories over three ranked teams and has been named NESCAC Player of the Week for her efforts.
Helm scored important points in all three games as Tufts won 2-0 at home against seventh-ranked Babson College on September 29, then 2-1 at #14 Amherst College on October 3 and finally 2-1 in overtime at #11 Hamilton College on October 4. With the wins, Tufts improved to 10-0 overall for its best start since 2009 and has now won 14 straight games overall. The Jumbos are tied for first place in the league at 6-0.
With no time on the clock at the end of the first overtime period at Hamilton on Sunday, Helm deflected in a drive by senior
Katarina Villa during a corner attempt to lift Tufts to the 2-1 win. It was her second overtime game-winner this season, including at Wesleyan on September 23.
At Amherst on Saturday, Helm's corner insert led to a goal by Villa that gave Tufts a 2-0 lead in the eventual 2-1 win. Helm also figured in a pair of fourth-quarter goals in the 2-0 victory over Babson, assisting the first and scoring the second.
With two goals and two assists for six points this week, Helm now has 11 goals and four assists for 26 points in 10 games. Her 11 goals and 26 points lead the conference.
This is Helm's first Player of the Week honor for the season and her career. It's also the first time a Tufts player has been honored since
Hannah Biccard was selected on September 15 of last season.
