MEDFORD, MA (October 6, 2026) – Following his stellar fifth-place performance at the Running of the Cows Men's Navy Championship, Tufts University senior
Jonah Reisner has been announced today as the NESCAC Runner of the Week.
The event was held on Saturday at Carleton College's Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course in Northfield, Minnesota, which is the site of 2026 NCAA Division III Championships coming up in November. Most of the top teams in the nation competed.
Reisner covered the eight-kilometer course in a 24:34.7 time for fifth place out of 328 runners overall. He was the only competitor from a NESCAC or New England school in the top 10. Reisner finished well among the lead group, moving up from eighth place at the 5.3-kilometer mark into the top five at the finish line.
His finish helped the Jumbo team take 10th place out of 35 teams at the meet.
Reisner is Tufts' first NESCAC Runner of the Week in nearly three years, since Ivan Appleton was honored on October 17, 2023. The runner-up at the 2025 NESCAC Championship meet, Reisner earned All-Conference first team recognition last year.
