No. 3 Women's Soccer Earns Second Straight NESCAC Title Appearance With 2-1 Win Over Hamilton

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (November 7, 2026) – The No. 3 ranked Tufts University women's soccer team punched their ticket to their second consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship appearance after taking down No. 16 Hamilton 2-1 on Cole Field at Williams College.

The Jumbos (13-0-3, 7-0-3 NESCAC), entered the conference semifinal round unbeaten so far on the season and maintained that after the hard fought victory this afternoon. The Continentals (11-3-3, 6-2-2 NESCAC), put the pressure on Tufts' offense after knotting the game at one in the first half, but the Jumbos' relentless attack found a way to tuck another goal home before the end of the first 45 minutes.

The Jumbos capitalized on their second shot of the game, nearing the ninth minute, to give themselves a quick one-goal advantage. Maggie Rogers used her speed to navigate down the left side of the field, sent in a pretty cross into the box that found Maren Jones, and Jones delivered an athletic jumping volley that got past Corah Boller.

Hamilton responded to Tufts' score with immediate offensive zone pressure, firing off four shots and tabbing three corner kicks. The Continentals found an equalizer in the 26th minute to tie the game at one and settle the contest down. Carly McMahon buried the goal, her second of the season, with Kate Giglio picking up her sixth assist of the season.

Tufts looked eager to find another tally before the halftime break and converted in the 42nd minute to take back the lead. Claire Brady beat the netminder for her second goal of the season, with Gussie Robillard and Jones on the assists. Jones is up to 11 assists this season which leads both the team and the conference.

Heading into halftime, the Jumbos held an 11-9 advantage in the shot department, while Hamilton led four to zero in corner kick chances. Gigi Edwards stuffed three shots in the opening 45 minutes, while Boller made four saves.

Tufts came into the second with a obvious focus on possession, as they ended the second 45 minutes with 10 shots compared to Hamilton's three and a four to three advantage in corner kick opportunities.

The Jumbos earned their second taught NESCAC Championship appearance after taking home the conference title last year over Williams in PKs, 5-3.

The Jumbos will have a conference championship rematch with No. 8 Williams tomorrow in the 2026 NESCAC Championship game at 12 PM on Cole Field.
