MEDFORD, MA (February 23, 2026) -- Following his 29-point, 13-rebound performance on Saturday in the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) quarterfinals, senior forward
Scott Gyimesi was named as the NESCAC Player of the Week Monday. It was the second time this season that Gyimesi has been named as the league's top player for the following week, as he was also the January 5 honoree.
In the NESCAC Quarterfinals, Gyimesi tallied a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds. The senior shot 12-of-16 for the game and 3-of-5 from deep, while adding two blocks and two steals. The double-double was his 15th of the season, and his 50th of his career, as he helped Tufts to a 99-84 win over Colby College. Gyimesi is fourth in the league in scoring and leads the NESCAC in rebounding at 9.8 caroms per game.
The award was the seventh career honor for Gyimesi, who was the first NESCAC player since 2009-10 to win the weekly award four times in a year last campaign. He joins Zach Wolinski of Wesleyan University and Dan Civello of Colby as the only repeat winners this season.
Tufts will take on Trinity College in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday, February 28 at 4:30 p.m. at Wesleyan in Middletown, CT.
