MEDFORD, MA (February 27, 2026) – Tufts University sophomores
Lauren Zipoli and
Cameron Stanton both scored in the pentathlon on Friday as the 2026 New England Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships started at the Gantcher Center.
In a field of 15 competitors overall, Zipoli earned sixth place with a 3064 score. Stanton totaled 2918 for eighth place.
The Tufts pair combined to score four team points, which has the Jumbos tied for fifth place in the New England DIII team scoring with one event completed.
First-years
Eleanor Lewis and
Camilla Brewer were also in the pentathlon field and compiled scores of 2883 (10th) and 2807 (12th).
Zipoli started her day strong with a time of 9.08 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. The team's season-best and her PR, it scored 893 points. She had the second-best long jump in the pentathlon field with a 5.20m (17'0 ¾") mark for 614 points. In the final event, she ran a 2:43.27 PR in the 800 meters (536). Her score was converted to a 3085 due to the flat track at Gantcher, which is ranked #45 nationally.
Stanton amassed 800 points with a time of 9.54 seconds in the 60 hurdles. She had the best shot put distance of the Tufts foursome at an 8.82m (28'11 ¼") mark. She also PR'd in the 800 meters (2:37.47).
Lewis was fifth in the field for two events, the high jump (1.51m – 4'11 ½") and the long jump (5.04m – 16'6 ½"). Brewer's 2:31.71 time in the 800 was Tufts' best and fourth overall tonight.
After an idle day tomorrow, the Jumbos will have a full day of competition at The TRACK at New Balance on Sunday for the rest of the New England DIII Indoor Championships.
