NEW LONDON, CT (March 14, 2026) – The Tufts University coed sailing team is in second place out of eight teams following Saturday's action at the Southern New England Team Race.

All but once race of a full round-robin was completed on Saturday. Tufts got all of its seven races in and finished with a 5-2 record for second place thus far. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a 5-1 record is ahead of the Jumbos.

Tufts had victories on Saturday against Connecticut College, MIT, Northeastern, Roger Williams and Yale. The Jumbos earned a perfect 1-2-3 finish in the race against Northeastern. Tufts' pair of losses came against Coast Guard and Tulane.

The Jumbo teams for the day were senior skipper Ben Mueller with junior crew Courtland Doyle, freshman skipper Pearse Dowd with sophomore crew Kate Castleberry and junior skipper Wyatt Bischoff with junior crew Cody Lamoreux.
