Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Strong In 20-1 Win Over No. 22 Colorado College Sunday

MEDFORD, MA (March 22, 2026) -- The No. 3 Tufts University women's lacrosse team scored the first nine goals of the game Sunday, controlling the contest from start to finish in a 20-1 victory over visiting and No. 22 Colorado College in non-conference play from Bello Field.

In all, Tufts (7-1) saw 11 players get on the scoreboard as the team played one of its most complete games of the season.

The Jumbos outscored the visiting Tigers (4-3) 8-0 in the first quarter, as Neta Leschly started the scoring stretch with a man-up goal off of an assist from junior Grace Hammond to make it 1-0.

First-year Eleanor Helm set up Kate Deehan and Schuyler Lloyd for scores, while senior Allie Zorn tallied before assisting on a Lloyd goal to make it 5-0. Lloyd assisted on two straight tallied and then netted an unassisted strike to make it 8-0 after the first stanza.

Senior Elsa Schutt scored unassisted before the Tigers got on the board at 7:43 to go in the second quarter on a Grace Bean score. That would be the only time Colorado College would find the net though, as the defensive unit and goalkeepers were stellar all game.

After Tufts led 12-1 at halftime, sophomore Esme Coes and first-year Sonja Keneally both netted hat tricks capped by a behind-the-back score from Coes to highlight the victory.

The Jumbos outshot the Tigers 32-12 on the day, while finishing with a 15-6 edge in draw controls and a 19-14 edge in ground balls.

Lloyd finished with three goals, two assist and two ground balls for the Jumbos, while the three goals from Coes were a career-high as she also assisted on a tally. Helm had four points on a goal and three helpers, while Aynalie Charron had a goal and two helpers.

Zorn had a pair of tallies, and Keneally's hat trick was the first of her career. First-year Amelia Sousa finished with a goal and an assist, while Leschly netted two scores as well. Elsa Schutt had six draw controls to lead the Jumbos, scoring once, and Annie Bergeron had a team-high three caused turnovers.

Devon Chipman made two saves in net for the Jumbos to pick up her seventh win of the campaign, and Sophie Powless played the entire second half making four stops while allowing no goals.

CC saw Lydia Desroches cause three turnovers to go with two ground balls, while Frances Hansot also had two caused turnovers and two grounders. Cassidy Schnaufer finished with six stops for the Tigers.

Tufts will now have a week off before a highly anticipated re-match of the 2025 NCAA title game, as the Jumbos welcome No. 1 Middlebury College on Bello Field for Scooter's Game.
