AMHERST, MA (March 7, 2026) -- Amherst College's Emily Petersen scored a man-up goal 1:01 into overtime to help hosting Amherst College to a 14-13 come-from-behind win over the No. 2 Tufts University women's lacrosse in action from Pratt Field at Lehrman Stadium in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play.

Tufts (2-1, 1-1 NESCAC) trailed by three at 4-1 midway through the first quarter, but an Eleanor Helm goal spurred a four-goal run by the Jumbos to take the lead at 8:43 left in the opening half after a goal from Neta Leschly. Mia Raven tied the game for Amherst (2-0, 2-0 NESCAC), but goals from Leschly, Anna Mollahan and Kate Deehan made it 8-5 Tufts at the break.

The Jumbos would increase their lead up to as many as five going to the fourth quarter, as Schuyler Lloyd tallied unassisted to make it 12-7 after three quarters of play. Amherst rallied, scoring with four seconds to go in regulation to force overtime. On the initial draw, Tufts was given a green card and Peterson netted a score from Kate Becker to give the Mammoths the win.

Senior Kate Deehan had a career day with four goals and an assist, adding two draw controls, while Leschly added three scores and a helper along with two ground balls. Lloyd finished with a goal and three assists, and Mollahan netted a pair of goals as well.
