WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (April 1, 2026) -- The No. 1 Tufts University men's lacrosse team scored a season-high 26 goals Wednesday evening at No. 20 Williams College, cruising to a 26-12 win over the host Ephs in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play at Farley-Lamb Field.
The 26 goals were the most in a game since Tufts potted 26 against Bowdoin College in the NCAA Tournament semifinals last May 18 in a 26-11 win over the Polar Bears. It was the most in a NESCAC win since a 27-9 victory over Trinity College last season, and the most goals in a road conference victory since a 27-9 win to open the 2023 season at Colby College.
The Jumbos wasted no time taking complete control of the contest, scoring the game's first six goals over the opening 6:30 of the contest highlighted by three scores from junior attack
Chase Beyer. Beyer scored five total in the opening quarter, as Tufts (9-0, 5-0 NESCAC) took a 10-1 lead in the second frame.
Tufts continue to add on in the second frame, as
Brooks Hauser and
Jack Regnery each patted two goals in the quarter to put the Jumbos up 15-2 at the halftime intermission. Following the break, junior
Will Emsing scored a highlight goal to get the offense rolling in the second half as the Jumbos tallied eight more in the third quarter to put the game fully away.
20 total players had a point in the win for the Jumbos, while 15 players netted goals for Tufts Wednesday.
Beyer finished with five goals and two assists, adding three ground balls, as he now has five scores in each of his last two games. Hauser tallied four goals and three assists, taking 11 shots, while Regnery finished with three goals.
Emsing tallied two goals and an assist, while sophomore
Henry Tweedy scored a pair of goals. First-year
Drew Bossi had a goal and an assist, and senior long-stick midfielder
Ben Clarke netted a goal and assisted on another in addition to his two ground balls.
Junior
Lucas De la Paz finished with a team-high six ground balls while going 7-for-11 at the "X", and senior
Victor Salcedo finished 7-for-10 with five grounders. Senior
Chris Tsetsekos was also 6-for-10 with two ground balls, and
Ben Frisoli picked up three ground balls as well.
Defenders
Cole Friedlander and
Ethan O'Neill each had two ground balls and a caused turnover in the win, as the Jumbos posted a 47-34 edge in loose ball pick-ups. Tufts outshot Williams 74-43 on the day, including doubling up the Eps in shots on goal, 44-22.
Sophomore
Jack Old made seven saves in his 41 minutes in goal, allowing just four goals, while
Will Anderson had two stops off the bench between the pipes.
Will Doran had four goals and two assists, while Jack Sartorius finished with five scores as well for the Ephs.
Tufts will host Connecticut College Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. on Bello Field in NESCAC action in the first home game for the Jumbos since March 7.
