MEDFORD, MA (April 10, 2026) – Junior
Emma Gall and sophomores
Elysse Cumberland and
Harper Danforth of the Jumbo women's outdoor track & field team each had national top 10 performances as the Tufts Spring Invitational started at Ellis Oval / Dussault Track on Friday.
In her first triple jump of the 2026 outdoor season, Cumberland won with a 12.14m mark (39'10"). The performance lands Cumberland #2 in the nation early in the season.
Danforth's PR of 41.72m (136'10") won the javelin throw out of 15 competitors today. Her throw ranks #9 in the nation as of Friday evening and puts her at #2 all-time on the Tufts outdoor list.
Gall hit her outdoor PR in the pole vault with clearance at 3.75m (12'3 ½") to win the event out of 14 competitors. The mark ranks 10th nationally in Division III as of Friday night, and lifted Gall to #3 all-time outdoors at Tufts.

Jackie Wells and first-year
Isabella Romero also had success in the javelin throw, as did junior
Nora Jean-Jacques in the triple jump. Wells' 39.36m (129'1") best throw is a top 30 Division III distance, and Romero's 36.85m (120'10") put her at #8 all-time outdoors at Tufts. Jean-Jacques went 11.28m (37'0 ¼") for a top 30 national ranking in the triple jump.
Tufts first-year
Zui Chinchalkar won the 1500 meters race with a 4:37.50 time that is a top 25 national mark as of Friday evening. Senior
Liz Donahue added a top 30 national time of 4:39.36 that was third out of the 40 runners in the event. The 5000 meters was run under the lights at the Oval, with Tufts sophomore
Zoe Margolies finishing in a 17:35.00 PR that was third out of 38 in the event and a top 40 national mark. Sophomore
Grace Doyle won the 3000-meter steeplechase out of 13 contestants with an 11:27.69 PR time.
The first four events of a heptathlon were completed on Friday, with sophomore
Cameron Stanton and first-year
Eleanor Lewis competing for the Jumbos. Stanton is 10th out of 20 in the multi-event (2298 points) so far, with her times of 16.22 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 27.80 in the 200 meters scoring the most points. Lewis, 11th so far (2255 points), tied for first out of the 20 heptathletes with a 1.58m (5'2 ¼") best mark in the high jump. The heptathlon will finish with the long jump, javelin throw and 800 meters tomorrow.
The Jumbos also competed in the hammer throw and 10,000 meters on Friday. Junior
Ceci LaBarge's 49.20m (161'5") effort placed second out of 22 individuals in the hammer. In the 10,000 meters, the final event of the night, senior
Eliana Montgomery led Tufts and was fourth in the race with a 39:34.93 time.
The Tufts Spring Invitational continues at Ellis Oval on Saturday.
