Lauryn Horita of the Tufts University softball team has been named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week.
In a 3-1 week for the Jumbos, Horita finished with a .625 batting average, going 10 for 16 at the plate with two doubles, seven runs scored and three runs batted in.
At Amherst College on Saturday when Tufts swept the doubleheader, Horita went 5 for 8 with four runs and an RBI in the two games. After Amherst tied Game 1 at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh, Horita was part of a Jumbo rally in the eighth as she doubled and scored in an 8-5 extra-inning victory.
Against Trinity College at home on Sunday, she was also 5 for 8 in the two games with three runs and two RBI. In Game 2, when Tufts broke it open with three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth in an eventual 8-6 win, Horita had a single and a double, respectively, and scored in both frames.
This is Tufts' third NESCAC Player of the Week honor this season, as Horita joins March 9 recipient

Paige Murphy. Horita earns the award for the first time in her career.
For the 2026 season, Horita ranks sixth in NESCAC with 25 runs batted in and is also among the top 10 for on-base percentage (.480), on-base plus slugging percentage (1.046) and and doubles (7).

Lauren Ebstein's Tufts team is 20-6 overall with a 9-3 NESCSAC record.
