WORCESTER, MA (April 19, 2026) -- The No. 3 Tufts University women's rowing squad was dominant at the 2026 Bernie Brown Cup on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, sweeping the events against WPI on a rainy morning Sunday morning.
The Bernie Brown Cup stayed with the Jumbos, as Tufts won all three races contested while the Jumbos went 1-2-3 in the W3V8 with four boats in the third and final race of the day.
In the first varsity, the Jumbos' crew won by open water with a 26.6 second victory over WPI, as Tufts tallied a strong time of 6:56.79. The top boat for Tufts was led by coxswain

Minutes later, the 2V8+ was also clear victors with another stellar time of 7:06.7 to win by nearly 34 seconds after WPI crossed the finish line with a 7:40. 6. The second varsity was cox

In the W3V8+ race, Tufts competed three total crews with the Jumbos taking the top three spots. The Tufts 3V8+ crossed the finish line with a time of 7:18.5, which was 8.4 seconds clear of the Tufts fourth varsity boat and its time of 7:26.9. The time for the 3V8 would still have been five seconds better than WPI's 1V8 Sunday.
