Tufts, #5 in this week's national TFRI rankings, will be one of the teams attempting to dethrone defending conference champion and host Williams, who is ahead of the Jumbos at #4 in the national rankings. Colby College is also a top-20 nationally-ranked squad that will be among the 11 total teams at the conference meet.

The NESCAC Championships will be a two-day competition for the first time since 2002. On Saturday, the field events begin at 1 PM, and the track events start at 2 PM. On Sunday, both track and field events are scheduled to start at 11 AM.

Jumbos are the top seed in six events this weekend, led by junior Simi Lawal ranked #1 in two sprints. Lawal's 11.66 mark in the 100 meters is the #1 time in the country this week, and she is also the top seed in the conference for the 200 meters (24.39). Sophomore Arielle Chechile's time of 59.05 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles is also the #1 time nationally. Senior Liz Donahue is the top-ranked entry in the NESCAC 10,000 meters race with her 36:28.09 season-best mark. The Jumbos also have the top time in NESCAC for the 4x100-meter relay (46.37), which was run by sophomore Elysse Cumberland, sophomore Makayla Moriarty, Chechile and Lawal. The lineup for the 4x1 at NESCAC's is subject to change.

In the field events, junior Ceci LaBarge's 51.41m (168'8") leads the hammer throw competition for NESCAC's.

Junior Emma Gall is #2 for the pole vault with her 3.75m (12'3 ½") mark, the first of five Tufts pole vaulters who are among the top eight for the event. First-year Eleanor Lewis has the conference championship's second-best high jump mark of 1.58m (5'2 ¼"). Sophomore Harper Danforth is another high Jumbo seed in field events with her 41.72m (136'10") javelin throw.

Moriarty is the defending champion of the 400 meters, where her 57.12 time this year is seeded second. With no multi-event at the NESCAC meet, sophomore Lauren Zipoli will look to leave her mark in the 110-meter hurdles (among other events) where she is the #2 seed (14.84). Zoe Margolies is another Jumbo #2 seed with her 36:41.53 qualifying time in the 10,000 meters.

Tufts has 26 top-eight seeds overall for the NESCAC Championship, where the Jumbos' depth of scoring (top eight) will be important. All-Conference awards go to the top three in each event.

The Jumbos were third at the NESCAC Championship last year.
