MEDFORD, MA (May 13, 2026) - Four Tufts University players have earned spots on the 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The Jumbos receiving the honor are seniors
Rachel Cranley and
Lucy Mitchell, junior
Natalie Hu and sophomore
Athena Li. This recognition is the second for Mitchell and the first for the other three.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be in the lineup for 75-percent of the total matches played by the team that includes a team score. They must also have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
Cranley (mathematics major), Hu (cognitive brain science), Li (biopsychology) and Mitchell (international relations and English) each contributed to head coach
Kate Bayard's Tufts squad that earned an NCAA Tournament berth this spring and is ranked #20 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 2.
