MEDFORD, MA (May 11, 2026) -- The NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championships field was released by the women's tennis committee recently, and Tufts senior
Lucy Mitchell was picked as an alternate to the field of 32 individuals for singles' action. The individual championships will be May 22-25, at the Champions Tennis Club, in Chattanooga, Tennessee; hosted by The University of the South.
Mitchell is slotted in as the No. 2 alternate behind Aspen Young of Colorado College, as any singles player or doubles team that scratches from the tournament will be replaced in sequential order by the published list of alternates. The draw for the individual championship will be done by the women's tennis committee and will be released on May 23 not before 1 p.m. Eastern time.
Mitchell has logged all of her matches in 2026 at No. 1 singles for the Jumbos, earning All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) First Team after going 9-6 overall at the top spot this spring. Overlal, Mitchell was 10-7 in singles during her senior season, helping Tufts to an NCAA Second Round appearance as a squad.
