CAMBRIDGE, MA (May 14, 2026) – Junior
Emma Gall of the Tufts University women's outdoor track & field team broke her own school record in the pole vault on Thursday evening at the MIT Final Qualifier meet.
Gall, who had set a new Tufts record with a 3.87m (12'8 ¼") mark earlier this spring, cleared 3.89m (12'9") tonight. Already in the top 20 for Division III entering the meet, the new height ranks her 16th nationally as of Thursday evening.
Seven Jumbos competed at the MIT Final Qualifier meet on Thursday, looking to improve upon or establish national qualifying marks.
Junior
Simi Lawal and sophomore Elysee Cumberland, who are both safely qualified for the NCAA meet, were in action at MIT. Neither was able to improve their marks, but were strong nonetheless. Lawal ran a time of 24.51 seconds in the 200 meters, and Cumberland went 11.65m (38'2 ¾") in the triple jump.
Rainy conditions were not conducive to great performances, though some Jumbos were able to post their best marks.
A 2:12.83 time by junior
Kaya West in the 800 meters was her PR and the team's season-best. It moved her to #4 all-time at Tufts, and was near a national top 50 ranking.
Senior
Liz Donahue, in the last race of her outstanding collegiate career, ran her season-best in the 10,000 meters. Her 36:14.22 time was the team's best 10K for 2026 and ranks #45 nationally.
Sophomore
Cameron Stanton PR'd in the 100 meters with a time of 12.99 seconds. She was also in the long jump tonight and recorded a distance of 5.16m (16'11 ¼").
Senior
