MEDFORD, MA (May 16, 2026) -- The Tufts University women's lacrosse team scored the first 13 goals of the game, leading 12-0 at halftime over No. 13 Gettysburg College to coast to an emphatic 16-7 victory in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Third Round Saturday on Bello Field. 

Tufts (16-3) will now take on Williams College Sunday at 4:30 PM on Bello Field after the Ephs defeated Colorado College 16-5 in the second contest of the afternoon. 

It was one-way traffic in the first half for the Jumbos, as first-year Eleanor Helm started the scoring with a rising laser from junior Sophia Claps at the 13:40 mark of the first to take the early edge. Junior Schuyler Lloyd netted a man-up goal, followed by back-to-back goals by Allie Zorn to make it 4-0 just six minutes into the game. 

Junior Grace Hammond finished off the first quarter with a score from Neta Leschly, as Tufts took a 5-0 lead into the second stanza. The momentum continued in the second, as the Jumbos outscored the Bullets (14-7) 7-0 in the period as Helm tallied two goals and helped out on another. 

After the halftime break, sophomore Esme Coes scored unassisted to finish the 13-0 goal binge for the Jumbos, as Tufts was able to rest and rotate its group as it coasted to victory. 

Tufts outshot its visitors 31-17 for the game, including a 22-14 edge in shots on goal. The Jumbos were 17-for-19 on clear attempts and added a 16-9 advantage on draw controls. Tufts also tallied four free position goals on five attempts Saturday. 

Zorn and Helm each had three goals and two assists for the Jumbos, and Claps had a great game with a goal, two assists, three caused turnovers and six draw controls. 

Coes had two points on a goal and assist, and Hammond and Lloyd each scored twice. Senior Nicola Donlan and first-year Sophie Haas each had three caused turnovers and three grounders, and sophomore Ava Olender added six draw controls. Devon Chipman allowed no goals and made three saves, while junior Sophie Powless stopped four shots. 

Kali McDonnell, Michaela Kelly and Julia Daly each posted two goals for the Bullets. 

Tufts is looking to make its fifth appearance in the NCAA Final Four on Sunday, all since 2019.
