PRIOR TO TUFTS: Was a two-sport star for the Fighting Irish of Sacred Heart Prep in San Francisco, California...standout on the basketball and volleyball court...was co-captain of both volleyball and basketball teams as a senior...won the volleyball and basketball Commitment Award for both teams in her final season...named West Catholic Athletic League Honorable Mention as a senior in both hoops and volleyball...led her volleyball team to a Division III Central Coast Section title in 2022 and 2024...In 2023, helped her volleyball squad to a CCS runner-up finish, while earning the CIF Northern Region title and CIF state runner-up spot...Sacred Heart Cathedral DePaul Schoalr...Vincentine Contrero Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Athletics.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Erik Nelson and Kai-Ching Cha...has one brother, Jonah...parents both rowed at Brown University, while uncle was a rower at Brown university and cousin Abe Nelson also attends Tufts and is a rower for the Jumbos...chose Tufts because "as a student who is unsure of her career path but absolutely loves learning, I’m excited to traverse all the different routes I may take at a liberal arts university like Tufts. I hope to explore and refine my interest in the natural sciences during my years at Tufts University while enjoying the sports I love and navigating a new city."
