Mike Ward

Mike Ward joined the Tufts University baseball squad this year as an assistant coach for the 2023 campaign. 

Ward comes to Tufts after serving as the head baseball coach at Salem State University from 2013 through 2016. While leading SSU, Ward helped the squad to four Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season titles, while also earning three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Ward's squads picked up four NCAA Tournament victories, as he posted a 106-66-1 record as the head mentor. He helped recruit and produce 20 All-MASCAC honorees, while seven players were picked to the All-New England Region team. Before taking over as the head coach, he served as the associate head baseball coach at Salem State from 2010-12. 

Prior to Salem State, Ward was the head baseball coach at Salem High School from 2003-2008. He helped lead his squad to three Northeastern Conferenve Division titles, while picking up Northeastern Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2008. He served as the head coach for the Eastern Massachusetts All-Star game twice. He also was the Salem American Legion Post 23 coach from 1997-2002. 

A Tufts University graduate in 1990, he earned his MBA from Babson College in 2002.
