Megan Caveny, the all-time leading scorer for the Vassar College field hockey program, joined the Tufts University Field Hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach this summer.

Caveny comes from Smith College, where she had been the assistant coach since May 2020. She earned a Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Studies at Smith while working with the Pioneers. 

Prior to Smith, she spent a volunteer year coaching at SUNY Geneseo in 2019. The Knights finished that season with a 19-3 record, won the SUNYAC title and were ranked in the top 20 of Division III.

At Vassar, Caveny led the team to an historic 2018 season, when the Brewers won the conference championship for the first time in school history and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament while finishing as the fifth-ranked team in Division III. She was a team captain junior and senior year and holds the program's school records in all offensive categories. In 74 career games, she scored 41 goals and 29 assists for 111 points. She graduated from Vassar in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. 

Originally from Cicero, New York, she was a two-sport standout at Cicero-North Syracuse High School in field hockey and lacrosse.
