Hesse continues his time as a Jumbo in 2023, moving from a player to the coaching staff after having a strong career in the blue and brown. Hesse appeared in 46 games as a player, scoring four goals to go with four assists and 119 ground balls. He won 198 face-offs, while also causing three turnovers. 

Prior to Tufts, Hesse was a standout for Loyola High School, where he was named as the US Lacrosse Los Angeles Player of the Year in 2018.
