Favorite food: Anytime she can go out to eat! Bella loves the social experience of going out to eat. She loves going to the “Bread place” (aka Cheesecake Factory), “Popcorn restaurant” (aka 99 restaurant) and “Chicken parm place” (aka The Chateu) 

Bella was born a 33 week preemie weighing 3lbs 13oz and has been a little fighter since birth. Little did Bella and her mother, Marlene Pedroza, know that she would be fighting many battles throughout her life.   Bella is a medically complex young woman. She has Cerebral Palsy, a rare genetic disorder called Xia-Gibbs Syndrome (1 in 126 million) and Cortical Vision Impairment. Bella has had 55 surgeries and over 400 inpatient stays all at Boston Children’s Hospital.  She will be having her 56th surgery on October 29, 2020 which will be her most complicated surgery yet. She will be having tracheotomy surgery to help Bella with her severe sleep apnea.  Through all of Bella’s tough times she has gone through it all with her contagious smile and her sweet social self, making her entire medical team, family, friends and teammates smile from ear to ear. Bella always leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes. Bella has definitely given her family and friends her strength daily and together we are always ready  to conquer the next chapter.
