MEDFORD -- Emily

The victory is the eighth in a row for the Jumbos, who improve

Upstart Connecticut College, which dropped to 5-6 overall and

Jumbos pulled away with a four-goal run. The Camels were led by
three goals off the bench from sophomore Ashley Crutchfield
(Concord, NH).
Connecticut College had early leads of 2-0 and 4-3, with first

minutes. A three-goal run by the Jumbos during a 1:23 stretch,

with nine minutes to go until halftime. The Jumbos led 8-6 at the
break after Abelli scored on a free-position shot with 16 seconds
on the clock.
Into the second half, the Camels were within 9-8 after a
free-position goal by first year Brianna Miller (Sudbury, MA) at
22:46. Tufts scored the next four goals, all by different players,
to go up 13-8 with 16:32 remaining in regulation. Sophomore
Lara Kozin
(Suffern, NY) had a goal and an assist during the run.
Back-to-back goals by Crutchfield pulled the Camels within 13-10 at
7:40, but Egan netted the next two for Tufts and the Jumbos closed
out the victory.
Egan finished with three goals and three assists for a game-high
six points. Kozin added three goals and two assists in a strong
performance of sophomores. Egan and Johnson both had three ground
balls to help the Jumbos win that battle 20-16 overall. Kopp's work
led Tufts to an 18-10 advantage in draw controls. Junior Sara Bloom
(Summit, NJ) finished with eight saves in goal.
Connecticut College sophomore goalie Ashleigh Kowtoniuk
(Johnstown, PA) was outstanding in the first half with 12 of her 16
total saves to help keep it close. Sophomore Katelyn Driscoll
(Peabody, MA) finished with two goals and an assist. Senior
tri-captain Cookie Smith (Framingham, MA) played well defensively,
recording four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Miller
