Senior co-captain Janice Lam (San Francisco, CA) and classmate Lauren Hollender (Newton, MA) also contributed to the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at #3.
Leading 3-0, the Jumbos quickly clinched the match with two singles wins. Hollender won the #5 match 6-2, 6-1 and junior Shelci Bowman (Dallas, TX) was a 6-0, 6-2 winner on the second singles court.
After the match was clinched, Jumbo #1 Lindsay Katz (Baltimore, MD) finished off a 4-6, 6-3, (10-4) win over Brandeis' Carley Cooke, a national qualifier last season and the #17 ranked player in the country.
