Jay Glickman competed in a close doubles duel at #1 doubles in the first round of the NESCAC Championships

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Williams College men's tennis team swept Tufts 5-0 in the opening round of the NESCAC Tournament Friday at Bowdoin College.
The Ephs improve to 15-5 and will play Amherst in the NESCAC semifinals at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. The Jumbos fall to 9-9 on the season with the loss.
Williams jumped to an early 3-0 edge in doubles play as the team of Rohan Shastri/Jose Raventos defeated Nick Cary/Austin Blau 8-4 and the duo of Brian Astrachan/Alexander Schidlovski bested Kevin Kelly/Brad Wong by the same score. The #1 doubles match between Matt Micheli and Conrad Harron of Williams and Ben Battle/Jay Glickman of Tufts was the most competitive of the afternoon, but the Ephs prevailed 8-6 to complete the doubles sweep.
Williams sealed the win with victories at #5 and #6 singles play. Howard Weiss defeated Battle 6-1, 6-1 before Raventos put away Blau 7-5, 6-1 to clinch the match.
