ROME, GA (October 18, 2026) -- Tufts University senior
Garv Bahl battled his way through one of the best fields in Division III men's tennis this weekend, but his run at a 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) title Sunday came to an end with a loss in the championship match at Rome Tennis Center.
Bahl was battling No. 3 seed Alex Feies of Carnegie Mellon University, as the fourth-seeded Bahl was coming off a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win the day before. Bahl would battle hard but ended up dropping a 6-3, 6-3 decision in the final match to finish as the tournament runner-up.
The Jumbo senior was unable to do much with Feies' serve on Sunday, as the top player for the Tartans held serve in all nine of his service games. On the other side, Bahl had his serve broken three times, which was the difference.
Feies won 81 percent of his first serves Sunday, while posting 59 percent of the total points won. Bahl battled as he fended off two set points and a match point as well.
Bahl and his Jumbo teammates will be off until the spring, when the team dual match portion of the season begins in March.
