NEW LONDON, Conn. – After a five set win against NESCAC rival Conn. College the Tufts volleyball team decided to work a little quicker, earning a three set win over Framingham State Saturday afternoon at Conn. College. First –year Alex Garrett had eight service aces in the three set win.
The win came by scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-16. Framingham State moves to 12-4 overall with a 2-0 conference mark. The Jumbos now own an overall record of 7-5 with a 2-1 NESCAC record.
Sophomore Mary Maccabee led the Jumbos will nine kills, while junior Maddie Kuppe had eight kills for the Jumbos. Junior Carolina Berger turned in 15 digs, while sophomore Sarah Wojciechowski had eight, and both Kuppe and Garrett had seven. Junior Kyra Baum finished with 20 assists, while Wojciechowksi had nine helpers.
After taking on the Jumbos, the Rams played the host Connecticut College, but they were unable to top the Camels, falling in three sets. The Rams will be back on the court when they travel to take on MCLA on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
The Jumbos will be back in action when they travel to take on UMass Boston on Tuesday night. The Beacons, who are currently at the top of the New England Women's Volleyball Association regional poll, and the Jumbos will start at 7:00 pm.
