MEDFORD, Mass. – Sophomore Kingsley Bowen compiled four top-two finishes for the Tufts University men's swimming & diving team on Sunday afternoon, as the Jumbos totaled 11 top-two finishes during a 194-106 loss to MIT in dual-meet action at Hamilton Pool in Medford, Massachusetts.

Bowen, who was named a 2016-17 Division III Preseason All-American by CollegeSwimming.com, finished first overall in the 200-yard backstroke (1:52.38, nine points), while tallying second-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (51.16, four points), the 100-yard butterfly (51.81, four points) and with his team in the 200-yard medley relay.
Junior standout Zachary Wallace, who was named NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week on Dec. 5, garnered second-place recognition in the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.26, four points) and third-place honors in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.07, three points).
Senior captain Matt Rohrer put his stamp on a pair of diving events, as he claimed first-place finishes in the 1-meter diving event (338.24, nine points) and the 3-meter diving event (395.63, nine points). Rohrer has qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in each of the past three seasons, as the Katonah, New York, native has compiled five first-place finishes in diving events during the 2016-17 season.
Freshman Roger Gu performed sensationally on Sunday, as he finished first overall in the 50-yard freestyle (21.52, nine points) and second in the 100-yard freestyle (47.24, four points). Junior James McElduff finished first overall in the 200-yard butterfly (nine points) with a time of 1:56.24, while sophomore Brandon Jinn earned runner-up honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle (four points) with a time of 10:01.41.

The Jumbos' performed admirably in team-oriented relay events, by posting a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay and a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Bowen, senior Jasper Du, Wallace and Gu led the charge in the 200 medley relay, as the group formed the team's "A" unit and finished with a time of 1:34.62, earning four points.
Gu, freshman Costa Camerano Spelta Rapini, sophomore Ross Wood and junior Michael Brienza worked together in the 200 freestyle relay, as the "A" squad clocked a time of 1:28.19 and earned a pair of points.
Freshman Alex Burnam was the team's top-finisher in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.74 (two points), while junior Lorenzo Lau collected a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:46.72, two points) and the 100 freestyle (48.00, two points).
Junior diver Aaron Idelson collected a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 1-meter diving event (266.34, two points) and the 3-meter diving event (294.82, two points), while sophomore Adon Shapiro and freshman Eric Shi finished fourth overall, respectively, in the 1,000 freestyle (10:16.63, two points) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.00, two points). Shi was the team's top-performer in the 100 breaststroke.
The Jumbos will compete against Boston College in dual-meet action on Tuesday at Hamilton Pool in Medford, Massachusetts.
