Women Sail to 7th Place at Dartmouth's Mrs. Hurst Bowl

Taylor Hart crewed the B division races for the Jumbos

ENFIELD, NH – The Tufts University women's sailing team finished in the middle of the pack at the annual Mrs. Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth on Saturday and Sunday. The Jumbos were seventh of 16.

Eleven races went off in two divisions. Tufts compiled scores of 91 in A division and 84 in B division for a weekend total of 175. Tufts was six behind sixth-place Boston University (169) and seven in front of eighth-place Coast Guard (182). Host Dartmouth won with a scoring line of 49-25-74.

Freshman skipper Abbie Carlson and senior crew Taylor Hart placed sixth in B division. They lost a head-to-head tie-breaker versus Rhode Island. The Jumbos posted a pair of third-place finishes in the sixth and ninth starts.

For A's, sophomore Talia Toland skippered with freshmen Audrey Becker and Ann Sheridan as crews. Becker crewed the first two races and then Sheridan handled the next nine. Tufts was third in the opening A race of the regatta and placed fourth in the seventh race. The Jumbos were eighth in the A division.
