BOSTON – The Tufts University women's sailing team finished ninth out of 15 teams at the Regis Bowl hosted by Boston University over the weekend.
The Jumbos compiled scores totaling to 114 in A division and 121 for B's resulting in a 235 total. They were eight points behind eighth-place Harvard (227). Fifteen races were contested in both divisions.
The Tufts tandem of senior skipper Charlotte Lenz with junior Marley Hillman and sophomore Paige Tyler as crews placed eighth in the division. Hillman crewed the first through sixth and ninth through 15th races, while Tyler took over for the seventh and eighth.
In B's Tufts was also eighth. Sophomore Lera Anders and freshman Chloe Holder handled the skipper role, with Anders on board for the first through 10th starts and Holder taking the others. Sophomore Rose O'Neal (1-10) and freshman Cali Salinas (11-15) crewed.
For A's Tufts had a top race of third in the 13th race of the weekend. A runner-up finish in the 11th race was the top Jumbo effort in B's.
