NEWPORT, R.I. - Sophomore Annika Fedde of the Tufts sailing team placed seventh at the 2021 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Single-handed Nationals over the weekend. She led three Jumbo competitors at the event.
Fedde was seventh after the first day of racing on Saturday and held her ground during six races on Sunday. She finished with a 97 score for middle of the pack among the 14 racers overall. She was fourth out of the 14 in Sunday's third race, while also earning a fifth and two sixths.
Junior Alex Talbot had been sixth after day one at the event, but fell two spots for an eighth-place finish right behind Fedde. Talbot's final score was 104, aided by a strong fourth-place effort in the final race.
Abbie Carlson was also in action for Tufts and placed 12th with a 144 final score.
Jacksonville's Charlotte Rose won the women's single-handed national title today with a 29 score. She was either first or second in all of Sunday's six races.
