Vuk Vuksanovic in doubles will play in the semifinals tomorrow at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships hosted by Bowdoin College.
In Saturday's action at the site, Acaroglu advanced to the semis with a pair of victories. In the round of 16 he got past George Chaidemenos of Amherst 7-6, 6-3. Into the quarterfinals, he was down a set before rallying to defeat Pieter Breuker from host Bowdoin 2-6,7-5,6-4. Acaroglu will play the bracket's #8 seed Reid Staples from Bowdoin in the semis on Sunday. The winner will advance to the A singles final later.
First on Sunday, Acaroglu will join Vuksanovic for the doubles semifinals versus Robby Ward and Neel Epstein from Middlebury. The Tufts pair on Saturday defeated two seeded opponents in tie-breakers with the same score of 8-7 (7). They got past #9 Kobi Ellenbogen with Ed Opie from Amherst), then in the quarter finals defeated the Williams College #1 pair of Chase Cohen and Matt Kandel.
The ITA Regional champions crowned on Sunday will automatically qualify for the ITA Cup fall championships coming up in Rome, Georgia October 13-16.

Sacha Maes and sophomore
Lachie Macintosh playing against each other in the B singles semifinals of the ITA Regional tournament on Sunday. Maes earned that spot with wins over Bowdoin's Sujan Garapati 6-4, 6-3, and then against teammate
Andrej Djokic 6-1, 5-7, 10-1 on Saturday. MacIntosh won on Saturday against Amherst's Nikolai Dammholz 6-2, 6-1 and then over Ben Powis from Colby 7-5, 6-3 to secure his semifinal spot.
The doubles action will start Sunday's final day of ITA Regionals at 9 am.
