HENNIKER, NH – Tufts surpassed New England College 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at Don Melander Field.
Camille Lu had a stellar performance leading the Jumbos with 4 goals and an assist on top of that. Her assist started the game just two minutes in when she drove down the left side of the field and crossed a ball into
Elsi Aires who was able to put it away into the bottom left corner with a one-time finish. This put the Jumbos ahead 1-0.
Lu hopped onto the score sheet with a goal of her own just three minutes later.
Casey Lam put her skills on display with some great footwork through the defense that cleared her for a ball that slipped across the box to Lu for the tap in making it 2-0 Tufts.
In the fifth minute
Caroline Kelly joined the scoring as she took advantage of a loose ball right outside the box with a long shot that hit the cross bar and went in. There was a bit of confusion at first but after the referee's talked it over they concluded that Kelly's shot went in before coming out and made the score 3-0.
The 17
th minute led to a corner for Tufts which was taken by
Lily Keiderling who whipped the ball high back post. The ball went over the goalie's reaching hands and found
Camille Lu who was able to head it into the empty net pushing the Jumbos ahead 4-0.
A minute later
Caroline Kelly of Tufts was able to retain possession and clipped a curling ball from 35 yards out into the box finding
Juliana Rosen at the back post. Rosen smashed it home with a one-time finish and her team remained on top 5-0. That wasn't all for Rosen this afternoon. In the 20

Camille Lu was back in the second half for more when a ball was crossed into the box low driven. The ball was attempted to be cleared away by a Pilgrim defender but was only able to hit it as far as Lu who took advantage and buried it past the keeper. The game stood at 8-0.
Lu followed that up in the 87
