MEDFORD – The #3 Tufts University men's tennis team picked up their 13th consecutive victory on Saturday with a 9-0 shutout of Hamilton.
The Jumbos (14-1, 8-1 NESCAC) swept doubles play, as the team of Paris Pentousis and Isaac Gorelik defeated Hamilton's (7-8, 1-7 NESCAC) Connor Griff and Matt Bartok in the #1 match by a score of 8-4. Josh Belandres and Matthew Cashin, as well as Rishabh Sharda and Lantis Wang, earned 8-3 victories in the #2 and #3 matches to complete the sweep of doubles.
Gorelik got another win in the first singles spot against Griff 6-4, 6-4 and Pentousis won big in the #2 match 6-0, 6-1 against Eric Stein, while Jack Moldenhauer picked up the #3 match victory 6-1, 6-3 over Nicolas Gritz. Dylan Glickman came out on top in a hard-fought #4 match 6-1, 3-6, 10-3 over Gianni Esposito to keep the shutout alive.
Niko Hereford (pictured) and Akash Verma each found success in the #5 and #6 singles matches, as Hereford defeated Mark Apsey 6-1, 6-0 and Verma picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win in the sixth singles spot against Ethan Chin as Tufts finishes with the 9-0 victory.
