MEDFORD – The Tufts University women' tennis team stayed on a roll with its sixth straight victory on Saturday, 9-0 against Hamilton College in a NESCAC match at South Courts. The Jumbos have now won their last four matches by a combined 34-2 score.
The Jumbos improved to 14-2 overall and will play their final regular-season match at home on Sunday against Amherst College. The Continentals (7-7) play at Bates in their regular-season final on Sunday.
Tufts lost just four games in doubles today, including an 8-0 win by the #2 pair of Madeline Suk and Zoe Kava (pictured). Nicki Frankel and Rebecca Lim in #3 doubles won 8-1 and the top pair of Maggie Dorr with Caroline Garrido had an 8-3 victory.
Outside of the #1 singles match, the Jumbos won the other five contests in dominating fashion. Sixth-singles starter Maggie Dorr did not lose a game while giving Tufts a 4-0 lead, then Frankel won 6-0, 6-1 in the third match for Tufts' fifth win to secure the team victory.
Lim also lost just one game in the fifth singles match and Kava shut out her opponent on the second singles court. Casey Cummings finished with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #4 for the Jumbos. Elle Christensen won a competitive #1 match over Hannah Apsey by 7-5 and 6-3 scores.
