MEDFORD, MA (January 28, 2023) -- The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team extended its winning streak to six matches on Saturday afternoon, getting past No. 30 Hamilton College 9-0 for a home New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) victory in play from the Tufts Squash Center.
Prior to the match, the Jumbos honored their lone senior
Isa Schneider, who was unable to compete Saturday due to injury but has been a vital part of the continued improvement of the squash team at Tufts.
The Jumbos won seven of the nine spots in the match by straight sets on Saturday while dropping the third set at No. 2 and overcoming an early deficit at No. 9 to earn the sweep of the Continentals. Tufts (9-3, 6-1 NESCAC) saw first-year No. 1
Vharsha Dinesh win a hard fought, 11-6, 11-8 and 11-8 win over Sarah Stonestreet, while
Riddhi Joshi battled Eliana Good at No. 2, 11-4, 11-5, 13-15 and 11-4 to secure the victory.
Caroline Chin had extra points in the third set in the No. 3 matchup, knocking off Eleanor Bailey 11-1, 11-8 and 14-12 for her fifth straight win to move to 8-4 on the season.
Nieve Monderer secured back-to-back victories with a solid 11-7, 11-3 and 11-5 win over Natalie Harrity.
Aleezah Burhan was strong in her victory at No. 5, upping her mark this year to 9-3 and now a six-match win streak with an 11-5, 11-4 and 11-5 win.
Sanjana Vissapragada now has 10 wins on the season with an 11-1, 11-6 and 11-3 win over Zoe Reinert, while
Ami Sao won her sixth straight match with an 11-8, 11-3 and 11-7 win at No. 7.
After a slow start at No. 8 yesterday,
Ellyn Xu rebounded to win three straight contests and get an 11-3, 11-6 and 11-3 victory. At No. 9,
Kate Chang dropped the first contest but outlasted Gainsley Korengold 14-16, 11-6, 12-10, 11-7 for the victory.
With the victories today,

Ami Sao,
Sanjana Vissapragada, and
Ellyn Xu have reached a current match win streak of six, while
Caroline Chin and
Vharsha Dinesh have a five-match win streak.
The Jumbos will continue their busy weekend as they will travel to Lewiston, ME and square off with No. 28 Bates College at 1 PM in more NESCAC action.
