Jumbo Doubles Pair Falls in ITA Cup Quarterfinals

ROME, GA (October 12, 2023) - Tufts University sophomores Sacha Maes and Aarush Ganji were eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup on Friday.

The Jumbo pair fell 6-4, 6-2 against Quinn Wicklund and Jordan Theron from the University of the South in the quarters at the Rome Tennis Center.

The Tufts duo had won its opening round of 16 match on Thursday over Matthew Michibata and Harrison Maitland-Carter from The College of New Jersey by 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 scores.

Maes and Ganji qualified for the ITA Cup, which is the fall national championships for college tennis, by finishing as the runner-up at the ITA New England championships on October 1.

The Tufts pair will continue at the ITA Cup in consolation matches on Saturday.
